Tube amp help...

I am not sure of the small tubes number I just don't want to damage the amp. Can't find a schematic for this thing. I can get a tube data sheet. But looks to me that somebody used it to death and the tube is extremely weak. But what is the PrF meter reading and where should is be at on full power?

The small tube's number isn't important. It's just there to operate the relay.

Here's a tube spec sheet for the amplifier tube. 60 watts out is P.E.P. under intermittant key down with the wind at your back.

Does the meter on the amp say PRF? If so it's probably a relative reading meter whose absolute reading is not calibrated. It's just a tune for max while driving down the road meter.

It's pretty easy to launch a tube like the one you have there. Maybe it isn't as new. It's not easy to tell without individual metering of grid, screen, plate voltages and currents.

So your saying output is normal for what I am getting? I am only using FM not am. Is my tube supposed to blush?

A manual would answer much better than I.

I don't know the capability of this amp aside from maximum recommendations listed for the tube type.

The spec sheet is failry clear. Is says 60 watts P.E.P. as a linear amplifier. 60 watts carrier on FM would probably be pushing it unless the bias was into class C enough to improve efficiency. I cannot guess that one : )

My guess is that tube should not blush. Someone who is a land mobile radio guru from 30 years ago could easily tell you most of this.
Not my division.
