Just installed one of these and was wondering if anyone had fooled with the software to allow laptop programming of the radio.
 

Haven't tried that radio out yet, so I can't answer that question. However, that's one of the radios on my short list to try out. Care to start a review thread?
 
I will as soon as we get to try programming from a laptop. Installed it on Sunday, got to talk on it a little on the way home from work today. Got good reports on the sound quality going down the highway with the windows down and mud tires singing on my 87 Toyota. That was a large concern to me.
If you want to see a decent demo on the programming from the radio, watch this.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
