Didn't see Ghana but Senegal was ok. I got to meet the embassy comm guy, Tom Gregory, and operate his station 9Q5NW.
Now Guinea Bissau and The Gambia were bad but landing at the Cape Verde islands we had to do a low pass to shoo the cows and people off the runway. Good times.
Senegal was far from great when I was there. They were just at the end of the great drought and famine of the Western Sahel region in the early-mid 80's. I know what you mean about the fly-pass. LOL We had to get rid of the goats and kids playing on the dirt strip before the C-130 could land. the goats scattered quickly but the kids stood on the edge and waved! LOL
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
