Uniden Bearcat 980 SSB NPC or swing mod help

I recently traded for a 980 and it looks and works like new except it does not transmit due to a blown final that I already pulled and checked with multimeter and it's shorted so I'm assuming this is a MOSFET transistor with no writing or marking on it just smooth darkness.
Cannot find online info on the type of this assumed MOSFET so instead of asking multiple questions leading to the climax I'll just come out and say it,
Can I put a IRF520 MOSFET in it's place make the radio transmit again ?

I think I read somewhere that is the correct final for that radio.
