Up/Down buttons on Midland XMT115 mic

If you swap the buttons the arrows will be the same as now but I assume that the funtion would be opposite.

Welcome Don! There probably isn't a whole lot of stuff inside the mic. It should be fairly easy to swap the wires on the switch. Or maybe even flip the switch board over.

Oh duh....you’re right, just want the left to be down, and the right to be up. But you are correct, the buttons will still point the same way.

I like my McKinley mic too but I drilled a small hole where the mic element is. Lots better now!
I just took mine apart for a peek. Looks like it won't be a simple thing to do. It could still be done, but would have to cut the board traces on the back and solder wires from the switches to the opposite traces.
If the plug end is able to be opened or accessed.. couldn't one just swap the wires at the plug if you know the mic wiring?

The mic is only wired with 3 wires. It has a mic element and 3 switches, so the transmit wire probably does all 3 switches. The radio can tell what button is pushed by the resistor in line with the button. I suppose that the resistors could be swapped. But I can hardly see them. Haha!
Cut the traces to the buttons and add 2 jumper wires to cross the signal, then rotate the buttons in the mic body so they point in the correct direction...
