Vintage 8719 8734 channel mod ??

Anyone ever seen this mod to add channels to the 8734? What's the deal? History?

As far as it working on the 8734....No clue about that one.

Two 4008 chips with diodes. Serves to put the new channels in proper order from 1 to 40. Easier to use than the typical toggle-switch method of modding the 8719's binary inputs. That setup tends to scatter the new channels around. Requires a printed "cheat sheet" showing which switch to throw and what channel number gets you the desired "extra" channel.

This is how Galaxy gets multiple bands, but they're using a chip with a max of about 500 channel frequencies. The 8719 restricts you to 128.

Gotta hand it to whoever built that. It's a complex setup to wire up manually, and get it right to boot!
