Kinda my thoughts, (note the sad face) but If you can't 'just get on the air' for various reasons, apt dweller, CC&Rs, etc, why play the fake radio game? Why not just find an online reflector and add a mic to the computer?
There's echo-link & IRLP for the guy that wants to access actual radio operators on the other end.
I imagine it's infinitely more satisfying for a real radio guy to at least talk with real radios which are on the air, even if he's stuck online, and there's always the option of mobile or remote radio operation.

Maybe that will be next, guys setting up websites which require amateur licensing verification and charge $?/hour for access to their remote TS-2000 station, plus more $?/hour for having the amplifier on. :blink:
