Watch this idiot destroy a ft101

Fortunately, tubes are fairly tough. For no longer than he had it in transmit mode, I'll bet it didn't hurt it. But gee whiz... get a clue, right?

Don't know if they are burnt. Just a real good way to burn them up. The guy obviously doesn't have a clue as to what he is doing!!! It isn't a bad looking radio, but it's a risk buying knowing that it was operated like that and also he said he had done that before as well. So who knows how many times and for how long they were transmitting without a load. JHMO.

Don't be hard on the guy he quite obviously doesn't have anything to do with radio and for all we know he may have been asked to sell some stuff from a silent key.

Sorry if I came across that way. Just trying to say he doesn't know how the equipment works is all. Yes I believe he may be selling it for someone else. I totally get it. Hopefully the radio is still fully operational after what's been done to it. For the buyers and sellers sake. To all, have a good weekend!!

I'm just thinking someone rollin in their grave.
The price of tubes...

Hopefully their was no harm but it could have just as easily smoked right there, maybe flash-over.
He was lucky.

I'd be super pissed if it was my radio.

US $349.00 plus
$118.15 shipping

thats alot of money to just be careless with

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
