Just curious, what are your plans for an antenna? I would like to put a Discone on mine. Right now just using a small mag mount 2m antenna stuck to my metal frame shelf. It does ok, but I often wonder how it would do if the antenna was outside, up high.

So funny you should mention that,my house is 1.5 Miles from our County 911 Communications Center,and I'm planning to use a Radio Shack 800 mhz antenna inside,don't want to have too much overload ( I think that's the right term), I haven't used a outside antenna in year's,no need since I'm so close to the Main Radio Tower for our Motorola P25 Phase 1 trunked Public Safety radio system,hope this helps!!!
