There is NFM and WFM. It means Wide FM or Narrow FM.It is a filter circuit.Normal two way FM radios,police,fire,and even the export radios on FM use narrow bandwidth.The standard FM broadcast uses wide bandwidth.NFM uses about +/- 5 KHz while an FM transmitter on say 102.9MHz uses about +/- 75KHz.You must select the receive filter bandwidth that corresponds to the bandwidth of the signal you are trying to receive.Think of it as a window and the signals are scenery.The bigger the window the more you can see (or hear) without moving or changing freq..
