If you don't care for echo the Galaxy DX55 is a BFB.

If you're a ssb'er then the Magnum 257 or SS3900/3900HP.

If you like echo then Galaxy 33, Connex 3300, General AP Hill/General Lee, Magnum Maverick.

For what a 2950DX costs new you could buy a clean used HF rig. Something like a Kenwood TS140, 440 or Yeasu FT840. You will have a lot more radio than a 2950 DX. I always try and steer radio operators to a good HF radio, they have better receivers and sound so sweet on the air.
