What Is THe Difference Between A Turner +3 and A Turner +3B ?

i think it is the number of wires ,,,, +3 had 4 wires and the +3b had 6 wires

But seriously, IIRC one has a compressor built in and the other doesn't. I have a +3. but rarely use it any more. Mine has six wires; but a few do have four wires.

I have a +3 too....and a friend has a +3b and people say his 3b is much louder and more bass than my +3 ?

They are basically the same. The +3 was gray, 4 wires, and had a mechanical switch on the bottom. The +3b was black, had 6(?) wires and electronic switching. The amplification board is considered the same.

Here's the cartridge in my Turner +3b, looks different to the earlier +3 cartridge pics I've found online. note the 15pf capacitor! also the leaf switch contacts on my example are oblong not round. Is this a non- standard cartridge? as far as I know it hasn't been modded. Any ideas anyone. Thanks.

B has 3 leaf switches instead of 2 for 5 pin cobra. not sure what the response was but it was different
