what is this tone ?

Scanning VHF simplex frequency's and this plays every 4 min.
File is attached and ignore my dtmf tone when I key up.

well then contact him and ask him what it's all about

Probably a remote control signal of some sort. that's the only reason I can think of that it would be to need a an ID on the end.

The tone was being used on a "remote base" frequency.
So it was probably control tones. Still very strange that it had a musical note to it...

If you google the call sign, this guy does alot of transmitter hunting. Is it possible that this was a hidden transmitter for that?
