What's that small wire on the 857 power lead?

Is it a 857 or is it the 857D?
Mine 897D has the TCXO.
It is not to bad on CW mode with the DSP engaged.

Mine is 857D, I don't think it has the TCXO, but I'm going to check. Lol. I sure hope it does.

I have 2 FT857D's (with addon SSB 2.3kc and CW 500hz filters). Both have the brown wire. If you look at the boards of the 857D and 897D, they are identical. The brown wire puts it into low power, "battery save" mode, just like the 897D does when in battery mode.
