I'm using the 5 Ghz band which (for me) is fast enough. Via WiFi I get a d/l of around 175mbps on my tablet and close to 300mbps on my laptop.

What makes the 5.9 GHz band better than the current 5.2 GHz band?

I have everything on my home network on 2.4 GHz except my laptop and my phone. I have them on 5 GHz so it has better speed etc. LOL The WiFi router is in the same room as my laptop so coverage is not an issue. I have the rest of the family and devices on 2.4 GHz.

Only thing I can think of, is less congestion. It certainly doesn't provide increased range over 2.4 or 5.0.
