Wilson 1000 roof mount

Can this mount go Bad? Coax is in good shape tried 3 different antennas bad swr on all..

if it is the so239 mount use a dummy load on roof and see if you get good swr

The coil can break in a Wilson, I’ve had that happen several times from hitting tree limbs and such. Since the coil housing is sealed, I had to cut it open with a dremel and fix it. That left it pretty ugly.

Or the coax could have come loose from the 239.

make sure the bolts/nuts on the mount itself sre still tight

The mount may have acquired some rust between it and the sheet metal.
But my first suspect would be the PL connector to coax, since this area is so often subject to bending/fraying of coax wire.

Take it off and see if you can shake water out of it...If so, it's probably shorted out.

Bobby ,I had an antenna a while back that had one strand of coax shield wire shorting out causing me grief . It was hard for this old man to see w/out his glasses but I found it .
