Wilson 1000 roof mount

I just have to say my 1000 roof mount is 1.1 across the band and 50 ohms..man i am excited!!!

i have just tried using a wilson 1000 on the trunk of a lincoln town car and the results are suprising. 1:1 swrs across the band maybe to about 1:2 up above 27.425 to 27.555. with a RCI 2950 and Dx conditions have talked allover the USA and down into the Carribian on SSB just out the radio. have not done any real grounding or bonding yet just screwed it to the trunk using a trunk mount and set the SWRS maybe clipping about 3/4" from the stinger. its made Dxing a lot of fun just seeing what it will do as is. can't wait to see the results after some ground and bonding work and a nice little KLV 501 amp.

My 10k is in the garage collecting dust.....A lot of people under estimate the wilson. It surely isn't a push over antenna. The 10k tunes better but nothing magical.
