I have a wilson 5k,10 inch shaft,18 ft. coax, How long of whip do I need the for this antenna ? Thanks Bomber I ended up with 52 inchs on the whip , 1.1 swr Thanks guys! BOMBER

get a new stinger whip and start tuning from there with a MFJ antenna analyzer or a swr meter. thats the only way to know.

Wilson's cutting guide is a good 'guide' to go by but it certainly is not 'definitive'. Meaning whatever they recommend is a good starting point, not always where you want to end up. Their lengths are good guides to the minimums. If the whip isn't at least that long to start with, you got problems, sort of.

Probably need to find a good rat shack to get that item cause there aren't too many truck stops that sell the longer wilson whip.
