I have a Cobra 140 GTL It has a 5 pin mic connector on the radio. I bought it at a auction it did not have a microphone for it. it did come with other cobra mics that were 4 pin. I think the 4 pin microphones only have 4 wires , so how do I make I believe the ground connection?

Thanks.

I know that I could use a 4 pin to 5 pin Cobra to cobra Microphone adapter or I could take 1 of my extra 4 pin Cobra mics and remove the 4 pin plug and install a 5 pin plug. The 5 pin plug has a extra pin that is the ground, so maybe I could run a jumper between the ground and the audio shield inside the mic plug?

Does anyone know if this is one way to do this other then using an adapter?

Thank you.
