Wouxun UVD1P - successful warranty replacement?

Hey guys,
I've owned a UVD1P for just a little over 3 months now, and already having a problem with internal mic not working.
After contacting dealer, I've been told to send radio's body to a Hong Kong address for a replacement. Has anyone successfully done so? How long did it take?

FWIW - I searched the net and found:

The warranty statement in my package (from wouxun.us) states 18 month warranty on radio and 6 month on accessories. Any repairs must be done by the selling dealer or you pay.
