i had an A99 up i just put up an Imax 2000 and i think my repression is worse!
looked at my SWR with my Analyzer and every thing seems fine and where it shod be ..

ill have to play with it a little i do have high QRM right now but i am guessing the antenna is just picking up more of that..

i was going to add i cant even hit one of the 10 meter receptors but never mined now i can... Hmmm?

Low angle of radiation.
Can use it from 10-15 meters and works well.
17m too - with a tuner.

Don't really see a lot of extra noise, as when the static level is low, so is the S-meter reading. It probably picks up a little extra static; but not as much as some claim. Less than 1 S-unit as a guess.

You can tune anything with the right tuner but that doesn't mean it will work well. The Imax 2k I use works fine on 10/11 meters but's it's terrible everywhere else compared to a dipole for the same band. And it's easier to hide a dipole in the trees.

I agree 100%

Huh? So is it working better or worse?

Right now as i can tell worse..
I wasn't really upgrading for an improvement in single just for more bandwidth..
Tech side of 10 meter 11, 12, & 15 meters i dont need a tunner.
Ill post swr readings when i get out of work @ 11pm est

I agree 100%

10 pages of reviews from your fellow hammies who disagree with you.

I have one and YES using the MFJ259B analyzer it presents a good VSWR on 10/11/12/and 15 meters.

I can and DO use it from 10 meters through 15 ,meters with no antenna coupler. Sometimes at full legal limit.

Being as it is a vertical it is hard to beat on DX.

Where can a 4 band vertical be purchased for around $120 including shipping.

"Hello I have had the I Max 2000 for only a few day's but will tell you the I Max 2000 work's very well. I have a G5RV and a S9 Vertical and a 80 Meter wire Vertical. On 10 meters, 11 meters, 12 meters and 15 meters the SWR is very good. Signal reports are on par with my other antenna's I have the antenna mounted on the roof with the antenna at 40 feet.I have worked stations all over Europe on 15 and 10 meters with 100 watts. I had too put the tuning rings almost all the way up too get good SWR on 10,11,12,15 meters. Here are my SWR reading's:"
28.000-1.2
28.100-1.2
28.300-1.2
28.400-1.2
28.500-1.2
28.700-1.4
26.965-1.5
27.205-1.5
27.405-1.4
24.890-2.1
24.990-2.1
21.000-1.5
21.275-1.4
21.450-1.3

I will leave it at that till I either get one or am able to test myself. I get the wave lengths are correct. If proven wrong I accept that.

Antron 99 will come close to doing the same thing.

I found it hard to believe also, then ROBB got an I2K and posted his findings, I read the reviews on EHAM so i bought one, assembled it I DID NOT CHANGE ANY TUNING RINGS from the factory, I swept it with the antenna analyzer, vswr was useable 10 through 15, I did install mine with an rf choke at the feed point.

I am happy with the results of this vertical.

It is not my only antenna, I use a MosleyPRO67B yagi but the vert does work, it does make contacts, and it is less than a 10th of the price of the mosley yagi.

I have used an Imax 2K for the past decade on 10, 11, 12, 15 and 17 m. I do use a tuner on 12, 17 and the upper portion of 10m, but the antenna is never over 2:1 anywhere between 18.000 and 29.700.
My Imax is mounted on an old RS 40' telescopic mast, with the feed point being 36' above the ground, fed with RG-213 coax. Fairly simple installation.
It has provided me with consistant operations for 10 years without any issues or maintenance. I have worked DX throughout the world, and have worked groundwave contacts of up to 350 miles away on 11 and 1om.
I find the Imax to be a good value.
