yaesu ft 401b

Just wanted to know if many here have worked on these old rigs. got one in the shop here and it hs been a long time since i had one on the bench. Luckly i do have the full manual. From what i read there was never a service manual. and there is little info on the net.

Unit has no output but does produce a signal. Also s meter pins in receive mode. However the rig does receive fairly well. Any info or tips would be appreciated,

Boy I had to dig deep to remember that one. ot an easy task this morning either. I worked last night and my eye lids want to keep snapping shut. Does that rig have 6KD6 sweep tubes for finals?

I know what you mean. I am at work today. Been here since 4am.
Yep. I has those tubes. Need to find screen and bias resistors and start there. Right after i scope the driver. I do have that site plus another. Not much out there on this rig.
