Yaesu FT-857D serial number confusion

With Yaesu, I'm led to believe the 1st number denotes the final year of manufacture, and the 2nd letter denotes the month of manufacture.

This is all well & good for a rig that's only been in production for under a decade, but as the FT-857D has been in production since circa 2002 (I think), this would mean my serial number would indicate my radio was made in either 2004 or 2014!

Can anybody in the know, please work out when mine was made?

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
