Greetings Gentlemen,
I wish to start off this thread by saying I have thoroughly enjoyed this site for awhile now and find the info here quite enlightening!My question is why does my yaesu ft757gx sound like CRAP on AM? Specifically on CB?

Set carrier power at no more than 25 watts I run 15 - 20 watts heres the important part, Start with the Mic Gain all the way down or counter clockwise while keying the mic start talking while very slowly turning the mic gain clockwise or open and as soon as you see the meter needle start to wiggle thats where you want to be. These HF rigs have audio to burn so its great for SSB but AM its another story.


What I have explained here is the rule of thumb for AM use with HF rigs the owners manual say a 25 watt carrier but I would use 15-20 watts there ya have it. ;)
