Hi all, I have a Yaesu VX-8DR/E its a european model for the australian market.

Ive had the unit for almost a year now and am quite pleased with it however ive noticed a few strange things that someone might be able to explain to me.

If i try to enter any frequency between 253.000mhz and 276.000mhz
and 810.000mhz and 846.000mhz when using the keypad to enter a specific frequency ie 253.000 mhz it wont lock to and receive those frequencies but if I goto 252.900mhz and then scan upwards with the dial I can stop on any of the channels between there and listen to it so I am not sure why it wont let me type the exact frequency but yet I can scan upto it and the channels arent blocked out?

has anyone else come across the same problem or know of what the issue is?

Maybe it is in the wrong mode for australia i have it in the *** country mode i believe.. does anyone know the correct setting for australian OEM settings?
And what the ***, HAM , A1, A2 etc do

Also where do people get the vx-8dr technical suppliment manual from?
Any help would be appreciated
