I have a VX-8GR and it is listed as RX 108-999 mhz. Is it possible to mod it RX below 108 mhz like VX-8R? Or is there a hardware limit? Thanks.

Is there a hardware limit? Maybe they just blocked it in software? I'm wondering if we can flash vx-8r firmware to 8gr to unlock all bands.

My guess is that it's a limitation of the receiver. Remember, the VX-8r also has 6m capability, so it's not as big of a stretch to make it RX from 60-100mhz. . The VX-8G does not have 6m.
