I am looking for some stupidly annoying roger beeps for my cobra 29. You know, the kind of roger beeps that annoy the hell out of people, similar to ones you hear when mexican skip is rollin'. Thanks

Yeah, somthing like that! You got a web site for that. I have heard that they are super simple to hook up and I think I have heard a few of them in the past and they were annoying as hell, and thats what I am looking for. roger beeps that are annoying and drive people nuts!
Thanks

Every fancy beep I have seen, Roger-K, double beep, and five-tone are all designed for a radio that does NOT use the receive-side switch on the mike.

A Cobra 29 will require a 12-Volt SPDT relay added, to take the place of the mike's receive-side switch. Otherwise, you'll get the beep out the receiver speaker at FULL volume when the mike is released. An external speaker might survive this, but it tends to smoke the internal speaker before long. If it doesn't break an eardrum on the operator first.

The cheap single-beep boards have relay on them for this purpose. NONE of the fancy ones I've seen includes the relay. Go figure.

Adding it to a Connex, Galaxy or other radio that WILL receive with the mike unplugged does NOT require the relay. Far simpler install for that kind of radio.

Cobra 29 WON'T receive without the mike plugged in. That kind of radio will need the relay.

One of these days I gotta post the steps to convert one of those into a Bump-Bump. Now THAT'S annoying.

Now a ding dong when I key also seems like it would be annoying.
And what is a bump bump? Any way, I'll come up with somthing, oh yeah, you can turn off some of these noises, right?
