Closed until further notice or forever.

Actually there has been problems there for years, they started around the time that defeating the AMC became their signature tune-up.

Thats about the sametime that they went big and changed locations as well I think.
I have a dx979 prior to that and it works real good. I've check for the golden pliers / knife work and there is none.

I bought a 979 from them and i must say their customer service sucked. There was this guy tim who was a complete tool i reported em to the bbb and they had a cold solder on my roger beep had to have it fixed at a local shop.

That will fix em, report your illegally modified radio that you still own to the BBB. Sparky's has gone down hill fast no doubt. Understand though cold solder joints happen no matter how new or where you buy from. They can be a paint to pinpoint as well. As far as Tim the Tool (lol) that's your call man.

Last time I bought from Sparkys was 2009 IIRC, and he was still the "go to" guy for your CB needs. He was a bit on the short tempered side, but at least you could count on getting a good quality tuned radio....something 99% of the current CB shops cannot do.

Then Doug left and it seems right about then is when all the problems surfaced.

My understanding is Al (Sparky) just ran the place, and wasn't part of any of the actual work.

Sad to see another CB shop bite the dust.

Mighty white of you, bad mouthing the man when he has serious medical problems.

Not a excuse in my book to steal peoples radios that were sent in months ago for work, and never returned, plus all the people who placed orders and sent in their money for products never received, and no refunds...

Even if he was sick and not able to run the shop, he should have had someone close the Web Site, or at least answer the phone.
