The New AT-6666?

Thanks Simon,
All good..I was told the 10m / freeband changeover will be like the cre 8900 from the buttons. Software will not be required to change modes. Maybe some of the EU types will need to use software to pass requirements but the AT-6666 will not.
The new maxlog 8900 pic is out, but I am under orders of chinese water torture not to reveal it. I don't know why. Pity. It looks very similar to the 8800 with glasses, just smaller. Nothing at all like the AT-6666. Maxlog looks a better mobile to use due to knob placement. All along the bottom with selector in middle and 4 buttons on each side (top left and right) in a square.
I like it. Mic gain in software once again.
I have ordered mine....

Have the photos here and the front, how the display is seated looks like the front " kidneys " of a BMW Car, and like the idea of the buttons. Size is smaller than the current 8900 also.

AT6666 Last news was from last week and was new board, plus was trialling the idea of software updates being ok from the software hence another small connector currently in the proto models. Nothing sure, ETA 6 weeks first samples to be ready

I wonder if the op disc will have a virus too? something dosen't smell right with all of this china tech inflitrating this country. I wonder just what you would find if those rigs were totally reverse engineered?

Lol...

I believe your right. When I first watched it I was standing in line at Subway waiting on my sandwich.

Why do people do crap like that?

The real thing is still 2 months away. I find the mem button interesting...wonder what it does? and what is that thing in the middle of the knobs on the left?
Is the menu system so involved they have provided a pointing device to help us navigate thru it?
it looks cre 8900 size judging by the selector knob.
60w and SSB says the spec ......

The mem button and other functions are pretty standard for a 10 meter amateur radio. Probably recalls a memory bank programmed freq or 10 meter repeater split.

The little light more than likely lights green on receive and red on xmit.

Anytone aka Qixiang Electron Science & Technology has built CBs and commercial / amateur tranceivers fo quite some time now. I have the AT-5555, the AT-288 HT and the AT-588 mobile, the last two are two meters transceivers. The build quality on the two meter rigs are great, almost like the Yaesu tranceivers! Far better than the Beofengs for the HT. *Don`t do it*
If the new AT-6666 is like these, then there will be a solid built radio fo 10 / 11 meters. I an in contact with a rep from Qixang but no answer on this new rig yet. I guess it will be a waiting game....
