A picture of my little station.

Everyone thinks I am talking off some big radios and equipment. For the very few who don't know the radio is a Cobra 148GTL. The QJE 50 amp power supply only powers the amp and everything else runs off the big black P/S on extreme left. And for some reason the picture has narrowed itself, the Motorola speaker upper left is a perfect square but it now looks way rectangular? I have to reduce my pixel count quite a bit to load it on this site maybe that's why. QUOTE: I played around with different pixel counts and it worked better :UPDATE

Great setup! What's the doohicky on top of the Cobra, and what kind of antenna are you running?

looks good, but I've always considered the 148 to be a big radio. my understanding of the definition was that it was audio that made a big radio.
I can see how it would be different for cb'ers from the 40's through the 60's.

are those standard computer fans? I'm surprised they aren't too loud. are you running them off the big power supply?

oops, forgot to ask...
new starduster? new as in a sirio or new as in new to you but an older version?

Yes I think they are computer fans and they are absolutely silent and cause no hash or buzz. They require nearly 0 power to run the only thing about them is it gets chilly when you turn them on, my wife puts on a long sleeve when I am mobile and we are talking. Everything but the amp is hooked to the Ashtron "black box on left" It is a new Sirio M-400 and I can hear stations 100 miles and even a little more away some times. And 38lsb people are talking over each other on my end every night. I never heard this stuff before. And no I am not talking about skip and it's conditions I have never got into shooting skip but like every one else I have talked around the globe. From the ground to the top is 60 ft. That is a 24 ft. mast
