has anyone had a radio built by lesters customs?

I've done business with Les. He is expensive and it takes a while for him to get stuff done. I have never been disappointed in his work though. I purchased a LC-6404 kit from him and installed it in a vintage 148GTL. It went well and he was helpful with a couple of questions on the install. It works like a champ. Top notch board, wiring, switches, etc. No cheap junk with Les. He builds each kit to order and posted a YouTube video of my kit on a tester radio in order to verify everything is working as it should.

I appreciated his nice design, attention to quality, and support.

Well I know of his work from long long ago when all kinds of different companies had channel kits and such. I did not know he was a real person and worked on radio's though. Gota love the internet! Since his kits where always well designed and built and his customer service was always good I am thinking an export radio or cb radio ought to be easy work for him!!!

I have an item that I dare not install with out a scope so after Christmas I am going to send some work his way. I will report what I think after that!I assuming it will be 5 stars. I do not assume often but he has a track record.

I want him to install and setup a NPC board from the a guy in the UK. Trying to decide if I want it on an existing radio or if I want to get a 2950DX and have it installed on that!!!

I am building trumpets as in the musical instruments. I have been waiting on some parts designed by yours truly to be built and shipped. It has been almost a year.Few enthusiasts in any hobby are happy to buy off the rack. That means a long line to get semi-custom work done. I am always up front with people about the wait time. I would rather under promise and over deliver then have it the opposite way around. My Mom would over promise and under deliver and she often broke promises. I did not like that as a child and will not do that to a single customer. So at least he is honest about how far behind he is! That is usually a sign of quality work!

So inquiring minds want to know...what will you be installing it in?

(tryin hard to ask about his ride, but keep it on topic, lol)
Its a Frankenstein of sorts 93 t-100 toyota 4x4 not a daily driver but an actual expedition grade vehicle nothing underneath it came in it lol

its supposed to be here tomorrow ill do a video unboxing ill hook it up in that thing im putting it in drive down through this creek and up a hill to a high flat open area and test it out for real not on a dummy load

918 that radio sounds real nice along with you expdition yota, it looks like Lester's does real quality work i hope your happy with it.
i tried it out tonight in my video he made it was slamming a 500 w bird i hooked it up in my tundra shop truck on a wilson 1000 its an sx 350 so it has a 50 amp fuse wired to the optima battery my swr is practically flat on ch 20 (i kinda tune for the upper for ssb) anyways i couldnt get it to do 200 w the noise filtering and audio quality wont touch my 148f or even close and the black widow dx 250 i use with the cobra will smoke that sx 350 im ocd about hooking up my radios i did it all right soldered connections and all, if that thing did 500 watts my dx 250 must do 800 (which is complete horse shit) ive either done something wrong (nope dont think so) or something is wrong or (heaven forbid) its just a turd? the 148f was built in 1993 by a man who is now gone in my opinion was the true master ill do a side by side video i think i can upload it to youtube and paste the url or whatever there is a huge difference between these radios , the 148 is just quaility far beyond the lescomm the 148f even has a modified audio of some sorts has to have a 20 w ex speaker (hardly have to crack the volume open ) the lescomm unless the amp is on its like it uts the audio i had the volume all the way up for a guy about 3 miles away turn the amp on and the volume jumps to about the level of the 148f its just way scratchier and trashy sounding. Galaxy radios old or new are just garbage really ive had a bunch my 148f with a black widow dx 250 will beat any galaxy radio period the recieve is just too good. im going to contact lester maybe something happened during shipping? his channel board seems impressive so far, oh and the whole mosfet vs toshiba LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

i paid for this with paypal i just got it today cant i send it back? its not at all like the video i got with the purchase and it showed it doing 500 watts burying the meter i cant get it to bury the 200 watt scale on mine maxed out and the audio and receive suck and thats being nice
