Plug it in ,plug it in was looking at a small 2 pill you name it, SSB and am and 2879's or SD1466 or 2290's Mosfets perhaps What are your thoughts Galaxy 99 V2 cobra 148 and Uniden washington
#1 build a better antenna or #2 push more watts to make up for the inefficiency.
Unfortunately I am at the #2 problem, I need to make up for the inefficient radiator via amp. cant put anything big.
I was looking at the X-force MF400 amp it seems like a decent little amp AB2, small and powered by its own supply.
Ameritron AL-811H just seems like a huge behemoth and I dont need so much power.
Whats the difference between Mosfet and pills?
Xforce uses 4 mosfets for its MF400 amp, they also sell amps with 2 pills etc..
Sure they do!The terms AB1 & AB2 refer to tube amplifiers as far as grid current and grid voltage. That said X-Force does not build anything in class AB, the best you can get for SSB use would be the class B TnT line. Most of their amplifiers are class C.

A Moxon for 11m band measures just 12ft x 4ft and 30ft in the air looks very small. Whilst your amp makes up for an inefficient radiator it cannot make up for the fact that the very same inefficient transmitting antenna is also a very inefficient receiving antenna. No point being able to get to them if you can't hear them.
