I turned on the madison at 11 pm and for a quick check before bed. while scanning frequencys from 27.3255-6155 lsb/usb I heard dozens of stations from Tanzania and New Zealand .

Not only did I mske my first contact's to that part of the world but made sevral.

I shut the radio off at 2 o'clock. The latest I've been on the air since 1987.

Had a fight with insomnia this mornin.

Good eye. Yes tazmaimia and not Transylvania. My insomnia gots me a bit goh goh. I must still be thinking about the passing of christopher lee. Or maybe its the garlic bread I had with my dinner last night. .QUOTE="Rick330man, post: 523789, member: 30799"]Do you mean Tasmania - not Tanzania?[/QUOTE]

You must be a bit "goh goh" as you say. First you wrote "Tanzania" which is in East Africa, when you meant "Tasmania", which is south of eastern Australia, and then you thought you originally wrote "Transylvania" which is in Romania Europe. Good thing you have an omnidirectional antenna. You wouldn't know which way to point it if you had a beam.

Last night between 10:00P.M. and 11:00P.M., I was hearing 242 out of Phoenix (talking about 104 degrees out there) and 401 out of Atlanta (3o miles NW of the city) non-stop. I heard them making contact with a station in Melbourne, Australia, but I could barely hear the transmissions from down under. There was plenty of other activity too.

It was rolling in stronger last night than it had in quite a few weeks.

I also heard that station. At one point I heard him tell a station in massitutets to "get out of massitutets and come down to Phoenix to this wonderful 104 degree weather. I keyed up and laughing and said "why would someone want to jump out of a refrigerator to jump into a bonfirebonfitre" ?
He was on a rant. I'd never heard him ever before. And could care less if i ever hear him again.

I normally get ten hours sleep and I'm workin on two. No doubt I'm definitely shot. I actually feel as if I'm intoxicated. I'm very lucky i have nothing important to to day. I never would've been able to do whatever it was i would've had to. I may just try to get a few hours before I just drop to the floor..

Been there done that when on night shifts. I would do 12 hours night sift and then come home in the morning and stay up until 11:00-12:00 midnight. By then I would be so overtired I couldn't sleep. The next day was hell too. Now I only do nights when another guy in on vacation so about 10 nights a year and the rest is all days. :)

From downunder conditions weren't that great mainly just the usual 7 or 8 stations from the west coast,Texas, Hawaii etc The big guns with lots of power and beams. You did well to get over them with a vertical.I worked half a dozen stations out side the country on ten and about the same on 11meters over the whole weekend.Thought conditions were very poor. Mater of perspective I guess.

I have been to Tasmania, Really enjoyed getting pissed on Victoria bitters, not to mention how friendly the locals are.
Hangover the next day hurt like hell, couple early morning Victoria biters and all was good again.

do Tasmanian refer to Tasmanian devils just as Devils?

Do the French refer to French bread and French toast, just as bread and toast?

When the Swiss order a 1/4 lb of swiss cheese do tey just ask for a 1/4 lb of cheese?

These are the questions that keep me up at night.

Yes they refer to them as devils if my memory serves me correct.

The French are mostly A holes and i do not know if they call there hard as rock bread french or not.

As far as the Swiss, I have only seen the Swiss guard at the Vatican so I can not say how they order their cheese.

Now about that sleeping disorder.

Good six pack of some cold brew and a Bottle of Tennessee's finest will definitely cure any sleep problem you may have.

You can always seek professional medical assistance, perhaps they can prescribe you some narcotics and you can ask more f ed questions here on the forum.
