Colt Excalibur RARE and recapped and serviced

I still do not see the export being all that rare ... many were sold here in the States ... mediocre performer.

I don't know very much at all about them. Have come across a few including one of the Colt Excalibur ones on CL. That one was over around the Orlando or Kissimmee, FL, area. And they wanted a bit more for it. Don't remember off hand how much. But at any rate, was just posting about a kind of similar one I suppose. And if anyone near the area would have been interested they could have tried to get in touch with seller if they still had it. At any rate, sorry to stir the pot, that wasn't my intention at all. I am by no means a radio expert of any kind!! Let me be very clear about that LOL! I leave that stuff to the guys that do it for a living or profession so to speak. And I don't mean truck stop Tony Mahone either!! Have a good one all.

Alright folks got new pics for this radio for sale still. I'm reducing the price and just tested the radio. The bad first is seems FM has no or very low audio in TX. All other is fine especially sideband. My tech replaced the USB light too and now I noticed the FM light to indicate that mode is being used doesn't come on, go figure... Oh well, I'm done with this radio, and it's going to another person who will enjoy it. I've got other similar radios I can enjoy so makes sense I sell this one for it's simply not my preference. It's beautiful in person just as the photos show ! I'm open and honest about thing or if you're in question just ask me ...

Reduced to sell and so someone can enjoy it please. $ 450 shipped to US residents via Paypal to me...

Thanks for looking, Retro

Any equipment I've had restored.(5) were all done so that the rig, amp or whatever was returned in 100% working order
What's the point of paying good money to have a piece of equipment refurbished when you get it back it's not working 100%? I'm going to be listing some of my equipment shortly and I'm getting ready to get hammered. There's no way in the world will I get what I have in to the equipment I'm going to be selling. It is what it is. Good luck. 73

I'm just being open and honest about my findings after testing, as that is the way to be brother. 2ndly, yes pay good money for it to be fixed and usually you get back a good working radio and this one is besides the FM. Don't know why is being stuborn. But you or no one else knows the whole long story on what happened when I got this repaired. Long story short, sometimes even the best of techs can't get them perfect ! And this one had some issues that got to my tech I sent it to that after spending long period of time on, he got to a point where he had enough of it and it pissed him to no end. I'm cutting him some slack cos he's done alot of excellent work on other radios I sent him and he has an excellent rep ! * Mikes Radio Repair * in PENN.

I tell it like it is, it's that simple so even if this loses me a sale or it doesn't sell here, oh well so be it, as I can sleep at night ! It's not so cut and dry Sonar, but good luck to you sir also.

73's, Retro

Hate to ask this; but who charged you that much money to restore this radio?

I quoted over 750 but that is with what I paid for the radio originally also EVERYTHING added up Robb. Mikes Radio Repair out of Penn. is who did it and he's awesome ! Even the best of techs can't fix every radio perfect !!! I won't say exactly what I paid for all repairs and what I paid for the radio, that not important but that I'm being open and honest about how it operates now and what I've had done to it.

Take care, Retro

It's obvious your honest and I'm not knocking you. CB radios are a poor investment. I know first hand. One has to refurbish a rig or amp or whatever because it's something they like. I found that out myself when I asked mucho for a sonar because I had mucho into it. The fact that it was 100% operational and very nice cosmetically meant nothing.
If you list something on eBay long enough that person who needs to have a particular piece of equipment will eventually buy it. Weather nostalgic reasons or they've always wanted what you have. Superhawwk proves that year after year with his
$2000 brownings and $1800 Daks. Mike is an excellent tec. He's refurbished many items for me. I'm gonna sell some items soon and I'm ready to sell two so I could get the amount of money I originally wanted for one. Good luck. 73

I've had this radio recapped and serviced and it's a beauty but it must go. I have alot of money tied up this so no low offers please. I'm negotiable some or possible trades but prefer cash through Paypal. The radio just was serviced and it still has a few issues, as I tell it like it is open about things. Couple bulbs are out now and it has a small carrier on sideband still but sounds good. It has a new switching power supply just been put in the radio. Output if fine nothing mind blowing but typical or normal. All knobs work and switches. I just have too many radios and this one I didn't care for preference wise. If I don't get some reasonable offers it will stay here. I'm located in USA so no international shipping on this BIG radio ! Will be packed good and will send either USPS or UPS ground.

Any serious inquirys with questions feel free to let me know please, Retro
