Which CB Shops are still accepting mail-in repairs?

I have two radios, a Uniden 980 and a old Uniden Grant that I had Clays Cb shop set up for me. I can record myself from my pickup parked next to my semi truck no more then 10 feet away and the radios are crystal clear. Hell I can even throw on my little rm 203 and still get clean audio up close. So does that mean Clay is some kind of radio god? No, he is just a good tech using the right equipment. Fine Tune is not doing ANYTHING special. Other then being a salesman.
Did Clay do the work or was it one of the kids that work for him? Last time I was there, Clay wouldn't touch a radio.
His trainees did everything.

I can detect the negative connotation there. You are not that clever.
By your logic the surgeon that performs a surgery is somehow less of a surgeon because he trained with another surgeon.

Do we care about the outcome or the person doing it?
Last time I checked the result is what matters.

I think compairing the Asymod (or mmm,.ect ect) to a peak and tune radios (limited) capabilities is kinda out their. The two rigs (at6666) on the clip sound excellent, but compaired side by side with a rig operating at 6khz wide with an eq in line imo wouldn't compair. The later would have to sound much better. The 6khz EQ/mixer rigs gonna have much more fidelity than peaking and tunning a rig that's components can only have so much done to it. Unless I'm missing something.
How can you get 7500 hertz wide by simply "turning screws". I'd love to see it happen.

Clay did the 980. Robert who has been around a long time himself did the Grant. The only trainees as you put it man the register, run coax, mount antennas and such. As least since Clay's has been in San Antonio.

Don't misrepresent what he said to prove your point.

Let's break it down for you:

No mention of any "7500 hertz radios" by turning screws. in fact the OP disputes that assertion by saying that you can't compare an asymod or Mauldulator to a screwdrivered radio - like a Mark Sherman screwdrivered radio for example.

Again, similar comment to the above. Can't compare a Fake Tune CB to a Mauldulator.

Again, no comparison between a screwdriver special and a Mauldulator.

So would you like to elaborate as to where Mr. Sonar said that there was a "7500 hertz" golden screwdrivered radio?

Paid shill strikes again
Why does expecting someone to prove their worth before I give them my money make me a "shill"?
You expect me to have a "religious belief" in someone without hearing any real world examples of their work?
I'd have to be stupid to send someone my money before they prove themself, don't you think? As a customer I think I have a right to know how my stuff will perform before I throw my money away don't you think?

ROFL. POT MEET KETTLE!

You are the one on every CB and truck forum from here to Europe spouting about Sherman.
So, he proved his worth TO YOU.

And now you are like a disciple spreading the word of glorious Sherman and his "tune" to the masses ...
And you are now asking us if we expect you to have a religious belief?
What do you think? Take a step back for just a minute and THINK man.. THINK!

Lord have mercy I can't make this load of S*T up.

He implied it was "golden screwdrivered" with Factory original parts which isn't the case.

I put a lot of thought into every purchase I make and for that reason I won't be sending you any of my money since you have failed to prove your capabilities to me. Is that what makes you mad?

You are the one that is getting mad.
That's why your turning it around to be about me instead of about your blatant worship of Sherman.

That's what we are talking about - AND WE SHOULD NOT - and you REFUSE to answer.

I'm not mad. Quite the opposite. My money is still in my pocket, while you fish for customers without showing us how your work performs.

More like his trained monkey's do everything…

Not sure what you are getting at. I have been going to Clays for years now and have never seen anybody but Clay himself or Robert work on radios. I have been to his shop many times for different reasons since he has relocated to San Antonio.
