By your logic the surgeon that performs a surgery is somehow less of a surgeon because he trained with another surgeon.

How can you get 7500 hertz wide by simply "turning screws". I'd love to see it happen.
Clay did the 980. Robert who has been around a long time himself did the Grant. The only trainees as you put it man the register, run coax, mount antennas and such. As least since Clay's has been in San Antonio.

Let's break it down for you:
No mention of any "7500 hertz radios" by turning screws. in fact the OP disputes that assertion by saying that you can't compare an asymod or Mauldulator to a screwdrivered radio - like a Mark Sherman screwdrivered radio for example.
Again, similar comment to the above. Can't compare a Fake Tune CB to a Mauldulator.
Again, no comparison between a screwdriver special and a Mauldulator.
So would you like to elaborate as to where Mr. Sonar said that there was a "7500 hertz" golden screwdrivered radio?

Not sure what you are getting at. I have been going to Clays for years now and have never seen anybody but Clay himself or Robert work on radios. I have been to his shop many times for different reasons since he has relocated to San Antonio.
