Made in Chicom

RCA started this mess in the 60's when they couldn't cut the price of there TV's made here. So they made them cheaper in Japan.
We should have started tariffs right then. To this day they have a 50% duty on our stuff. Hopefully Trump changes that.

Import taxes are the only thing that saved Harley Davidson. Imports over 750cc had a huge tax and is the only reason HD still exists. The trade deals should be tit for tat. What ever they tax us should be their tax. This is what Trump is doing and the world is crying foul......

30 years ago tariffs could have saved us, now we're closing the barn doors long after the cows have gone. The damage is done.

No one is going to invest in manufacturing facilities on US soil when in all likelihood the next president will just give China their sweetheart deal back and apologize to them in the process.

The free market system that we have is not really a free market. Government regulation is needed to keep the economy viable and is necessary in order to have a middle class. In a true free market, a few people at the top end up with all the money. Without government protectionism, the middle class would not exist. Protectionism was used after the great depression and as always, the short term fixes have long term implications. The corporate taxes used to cause American companies to reinvest the profits into the business and the people that worked for it so it didn't get taxed as profit. Regan "fixed" this to jump start the economy and the corporations were allowed to put all that money in their pockets. Now with the open trade its not the foreign companies flooding our markets with cheap products, its American companies. Its a balancing act and was upset when we gave it all away. Now we are taking it back.

It's hard, but can be done. My Antenna, tower, coax, meter, amp, radio, some processing and receiver are all made in the USA. But my mike, mixer are American company's, but Chicom equipment. It's sad..
I just sent a bunch of wheel bearing back. No f@cking Chicom sh1t are going fail on my truck. But trying to find anyone who knows where they are made ahead of time is hard. Keep in mind you right the specs for your own project.

cool all my shit is made in china. i hate the fact im boosting their economy
i would much love to buy all made in the USA

What blew me away is the reference in the "Chicago" article - that we (they can be easily interpreted as Dynascan too) have gone to outsourcing - to make the assemblies.

And now that the outsourcing is more expensive - what the heck happened to the stuff they originally had? Sold it off? Well, then the employees need to know that the "boss" sold off the very reason to bring back the jobs - only now the "boss" has to find out where all their equipment went and buy it back.

On top of that - the inventory that went with it.

What a logistical mess.

And we're stuck in the middle of losing out on repairing radios and equipment because of that sell-off incentive. We lost inventory due to the insatiable desire to put profits before people.

I still buy U.S. made radios. Don’t forget, you can always recycle older equipment. You may even find it enjoyable. True, my newly restored radios may contain parts from other places, but at least it will still remain a U.S. product that’s restored by a U.S citizen.
