Looking for suggestions for a decent ham mobile with AM USB LSB at minimum and with 11 meters. Looking to spend around $300ish. Used is probably likely from what I have been researching. Im liking the Icoms and Yaesu radios. Suggestions?

Not a yaesu or icom but I would look for a Kenwood TS-50... I have seen these go in the 3-500 range depending on condition and owner attachment.. Had one years back, good rig.

Yes: TS-50...one just recently sold on QTH for $300...
Another listed now for $500 with matching antenna tuner...However even the Newest TS-50 was produced late 90's...maybe 1996-7...
You can find good working units that old in all those mentioned so far. However many internal parts...final/driver transistors...IC's etc...can no longer be purchased unless found from a parts rig or from a salvage parts dealer.
Then this requires having mods done, to accommodate new components substituted in.
Plus finding someone to make those mods or repairs.
All the rigs mentioned, the Factory service centers will no longer work on those rigs in most cases.
So just be aware.
Shop around...Try HAMFESTS in your area for deals.
That or "Rat Hole" some cash until you can purchase something more current.

I got the impression he was looking at all the HF bands when he mentioned Yaesu and ICOM brands.
That may be a cheaper solution if he does not require or wish to use any band below 12mtr's...i.e. 75/40/20m etc..

I may have read to much into his question?
I use presently the IC-7100 and a screwdriver antenna and can work ALL Bands mobile 160 thru 6m with it.
I then have a Diamond antenna for 2m/440:LOL:

I second the second on the ts-50 but you are going to have to search and look for one in good shape at that price point but it can be done.
Got to be looking at the right place at the right time with cash in hand.
I also second hitting any hamfest you can.
Deals to be had there at times.
Good luck.
