For sale third version of the uniden Madison.
The Madison had it's digital clock removed and replaced with a frequency counter. This Madison has also been fitted with a vfo and is demonstrated in the video below.
I recently had it's audio limiter replaced as its first owner removed it. I've owned this transceiver since 1989. It has been aligned and biased adjusted was made to the final. I had a local replace the final with an after-market one but he failed to do a final biased adjustment after dropping in that final. That has been taken care of (by a tech.) The audio was adjusted using an oscilloscope. These are the before and after photos. The photo of the audio flat topping was taken before adding the new audio limiter and the final biased adjustment.1-Madison (extreme AM over-mod)~2.JPG
The second oscilloscope photo is what it looks like when modulated. (after the work.) The work was done less than two months ago.2-My 2950DX with typical 97 percent on AM~2.JPG
The 1/14" headphone input has been replaced with an adjustable dial a watt knob. This output adjustment knob works on both modes (AM/SSB.) With the knob turned all the way up (clockwise) the Madison gets two and a half watts DK with 15-17 pep. The output knob takes it from 0 Watts up to two and a half.
The Madison will be coming with both original Uniden bookend speakers.
2 silver eagle d104's. One. Of the two silver eagle d104's has been fet modified and has nice low-end. The other is a stock silver eagle d104. Both are in very nice cosmetic condition. Both microphones also have the hard to find plastic adjustment device once sold back in the 70s and 80s added to them so that no screwdriver isi needed to raise or lower the mic's audio. It's used just as one would use the adjustment on a Turner plus 2. This picture shows where the Madison is currently sitting. If someone shows interest I will add detailed photos of the rig, mic's and speaker's. I will also add a video of it's output and receive.
unfortunately I cannot add a video showing both at once as my antenna is lying down in the backyard on the grass. But I will hook it up to the antenna and I'm sure the locals will be well heard and enough to show it's receive in action. I will use either my mfj 828 or Autek wm1 and mfj dummy load to show output and demonstrate the added dial a watt in a video. The video will be up-to-date and current (as I have yet to make it.) The video below was made almost four years ago. At that time It was recapped aligned and an issue with the original installment of the frequency counter was done. The output knob was added. It was aligned and all this was done by Mike (at the time of the videos production.) Mike is Mike of Mikes radio repair. As I mentioned above if someone shows interest I will make two separate videos (both current.) One of the Madison receiving and the other of its output. The transceiver speakers, and microphones.are in wonderful condition and show very few scratches if any at all. If there are any scratches one needs to get really close up or use a magnifying glass in order to see and or find them. once again if someone shows interest I will take many detailed photos of everything included The price is $700 shipped.
Thanks for checking it out. Ps. this Madison is obviously for those like myself who would never be able to put one together due to my lack of technical knowledge. No one with the knowledge and a beautiful looking Madison would consider purchasing it. They'd just build one themselves. I do know the price sounds extreme but if you are like myself and always wanted one like this then this is the one.finding a mint condition Madison and then putting it together the way this one is and having to pay someone to do it will most likely cost you more than my asking price. I'm fairly sure of that. I'm not trying to justify the $700 asking price I'm just trying to explain why I'm asking what I am for the transceiver. 73's

THIS IS THE VIDEO. UNFORTUNATELY IT'S NOT LOADING IN THE ORIGINAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE MADISON. I HOPE IT DOES SO HERE. IF NOT JUST CHECK OUT MIKES RADIO REPAIR ON YOUTUBE. YOU MUST SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO MIKE'S FIRST VIDEOS. IT'S WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE THE THIRD VIDEO HE EVER MADE. SORRY ABOUT THAT. I'M NOT SURE WHY IT DIDN'T LOAD IN THE ORIGINAL ADVERTISEMENT BUT I HOPE IT SHOWS UP HERE. ONCE THESE FOR SALE ADVERTISEMENTS ARE POSTED THEY CAN'T BE CHANGED OR DELETED.

This clip was taken in October of 2018. I just wanted to show how nicely the Madison receives. The conditions during October of last year were horrible. I turned on the Madison and heard this station coming in from Ontario. The receive on this Madison has not been modified in any way. I'm assuming most Madisons in general have terrific ears. And this one is no exception. Another note worth adding is that this Madison has super adjacent Channel rejection. While most of my locals (who use exports) are getting hammered by the one channel lower (class C amps audio limiter bypassed over driven.crew) this Madison gets about 2 s-units of splatter. This is from a station that causes other locals in comprable distant to the offender 5 - 9 s-units completely making it impossible for them to hear anyone.
I was asked if I'd lower the price or swap straight up for another piece of equipment? I was also asked if I'd be interested in cash and a partial trade? If I didn't need money I wouldn't be offering up my Madison for sale. This one will be a cash only sale..

I forgot to add that when Mike put this Madison together 4 years ago it was fully recapped. If it sells I will add a reply stating so. It's just sitting on the shelf covered, and waiting for a new home. Thanks for looking. Thanks. 73

Not to pry, but will selling your Madison leave you radioless?
I seem to recall you having sold your Sonars.

You're not prying at all. I still have another 2340 along with the Demco modulator and it's a great sounding radio and don't mind operating a.m. . At least for a while. I don't have an antenna up currently. I probably won't have the antenna up until fall and hopefully I'll be back on the air around that time.

If you check out the video that Mike made when he did up the Madison you'll notice that the frequency counter shows the 1.5 kilohertz offset. Peeping Tom might have been a bit off frequency that day. I'm assuming because I don't remember that I had to use the clarifier to get him exactly on. The frequency counter should have read 27.3835. if we were on upper side then it would have read (assuming the other station was on frequency) 27.3865. that's the way my frequency counter works. As I mentioned above a 1.5 kilohertz offset on upper and lower sideband. Mike seemed to think in the video that this was kind of cool. I never asked Mike what he meant but I always assumed that there actually is a 1.5 kilohertz offset on sideband. It's just that most if not all frequency counters don't show it. The one I purchased and had installed in the Madison obviously does. if you find out any information about that and can explain it to me I would certainly appreciate the learning lesson.
