The modification process to open transmit. I've seen it reported a different power output outside 144-150 mHz. In parts of Canada there is LADD channels that O&G, forestry uses just above the ham band. Sort of handy to call your location so you don't get run over.
Yeah. I’m just wondering if the board is the same as the old v85 or v82 and if removing the same diode would expand the tx

As for the V-86, only time will tell. I have been trying to push a couple of stores for clarification. Even the rating for water and dust conflicting from Icom.

Well, I got my V86, took it apart. Looked at the board, it looks the same as a V-80 but I'm too chicken to remove the part that is the mod for V80.
