I am getting a simple 10x12 wood shed dropped on my NC (2 acre) property this spring or summer. Will have a simple steel door with house locks. And of course eve vents per normal shed. The door will not face the road but parallel. Shed is set to be 75' back from the road and zoning has issued a permit based on that (and future house). I do have a wooded area also which lines the back and right side.

I was thinking for EComms the following:

Simple 10' top rail maybe a foot or two in the ground (concrete) and attached to the house with 3-4 or the standard 6" wall brackets as well. I would leave another 10' top rail in shed as well as a simple CB/Export rig like a Lincoln 2+ or AT-6666. Also thinking a un-assembled Sirio GPS27 or A99, and a endfed or dipole (20/40m) laying inside also for HF gear as needed. Figure with 2x top rails the antenna would be up about 18' or so to the feed point without any duress. I plan on predrilling 3-4 holes where the top rail meet and uses sleeve as well like this with bracket above and 2-3 brackets below to keep joint flex down.

Thoughts??

Was also thinking 2-100w solar panels, solar controller, and some 12v wiring coming in to the shed for a battery bank. This isn't my first go round with solar. (Last setup was 1300w of panels and Midnite Classic and a 660ah battery bank).

Had already had a passing 'perc' test so next spring would be septic tank (hopefully) and then house or dropped new mobile as well within 3 years (goal) and a well.

Sounds Like A plain . But be sure and use Thick wall Pipe ! Top rail wont last Long Down hear! High Winds and a lot of rain will rust it out Fast.. Also don,t Put your Pipe in the earth . It will rust into Fast. Use 3 inch angel iron . Two each with a hole in it them about a foot above the Ground In cement about 24 inch by 24 inch around 24 deep. you can raze or lower it by your self easy. also install a pulley on the top of shead to help you with the load use grown road and heavy wire Ok

Thinking you should expedite that NC plan very soon.

Survey is being confirmed this week with new markers as we speak by surveyor. Then sending in for Perc test update (old one expired like 3 years ago, but did pass back then) and they needed clear boundary markers (hence the survey). Then shed in like a month or 2. Best I can do.
