Tram Diamond d201 Vox recap/restoration thread for dummies

Do the new resistors need to be a certain Ohm? I get the flame-proof and watts. Where do you humans get your parts, and would have the resistors I need "in stock" 73 to ya! We are 10-8 ps going to need some more tips for my SS-02 and more Chem-Wik.Also 2 new pairs of pliers for the evil wire on those little resistors. Lots of work ahead Lucy.

C700 Is the orange one, I went from the 1000 volt to a 1600 volt because of a couple stories about the originals shorting and damaging equipment in line. One disturbing story mentioned holes burned in fingers so I thought an upgrade was in order. 20230115_211046.jpg

Yes they need to be of the same value.

I decided to go ahead and order the original value multi section caps and all of the other High voltage axial caps from antique electronic supply. I was able to get good quality made in usa caps for abut $112.
Here is the parts list to make it easy on others:View attachment 61625
How about the same for the flameproof resistor values in Ohms and Watts. If I have to beg I will. I just finished a Bottlehead Crack headphone amp build, then did the upgrade and thought I was "Joe Cool" well, I'm not.

How about a JAN Military 5751 in hard wired d201 for the squelch V402 valve/tube instead of 12ax7a. I know they are lower output but I know my Jans are dead quiet and not the least microphonic. Thank you!

Who near N.C is a good Tram repair/restore technician. I am going to need mine tested after all the new bits are installed. My main issue is that I can do almost everything, but only have a analog RadioShack Multimeter. Somebody help out a poor mudduck.

I have decided to go with replacment multi section capacitors to simplify the process. My first question Is can I use this 20 20 20 20uf 475v In place of a 10 10 10 10uf 450v. I want the extra voltage rating to protect against the start up surge that Nomadradio warns of.View attachment 61617
I picked up that one, and the same 40/40/40 525, as well as the JJ twin Multi caps 50/50 500 and 100/100 500. It looks like the CE is drop in where the JJs needs much more love
