Hi all, was wondering if anyone would happen to know what amplifier this might happen to be as I don't believe I have ever seen one before, appears to be 2- 6LQ6 driving 5-24LQ6 configuration. Has a date on the inside of the unit as 1972 . Thanks

7-tube Maco 300 with the front panel missing. Seen plenty of them.

Were they really made that crude? I mean, the switch and lamp on the front as well as the soldering looks like it was made in someone's basement, complete with knobs from Radio Shack. Then again.....it probably was.

I would think that is a possibility Nomad but Most Maco I have had ran their maco 2057 or 8950 tubes , this one has 2 6lq6 driving 5 24LQ6 ???

The 2057 and 8950 became expensive, so they strung the 5 24LQ6 tubes across the mains and used two 6Lq6 in series on the 12 volt heater.
Bam, cheaper tube replacement.
