Rust Prevention

Late to the discussion but I have been using lanolin based products on my vehicles for years now. First starting using fluid film about 15 years ago. I switched over to woolwax about 4 or 5 years ago. I use woolwax on the underside of vehicles and fluid film in the body panels. Fluid film creeps better so its good for pinch seams in doors and things like that. Woolwax hold up better to the road spray than fluid film does.
When I saw woolwax had a thinner, I ordered it with everything else. Not sure how the result of thinning it compares to fluid film though. I have not tried the thinner yet, or fluid film, but I will be trying the thinned woolwax in the panels soon.

Woolwax is funny to me because its fluid unlike bulk fluid film which is more like a light grease. Ive got the pro spray gun setup from kellsport for fluid film. It will spray the fluid film which is more viscous than the woolwax but won't spray the woolwax unless its heated. I haven't tried the reducer for woolwax yet. Ive always just heated it and it sprays good. I fill the bottles for the sprayer with product and put them in an old crock pot with water set on high and let them heat until I'm ready to use them.

I have been using a solution called GALVAPREP to treat any bare iron or steel. I can't remember the brand, but will snap a pic when I'm in my shop today. Like so many products (i.e. WESLEY's Bleeche Wite) may not be available now because of EPA regs.
