I have been watching the updates and can't wrap my mind around this. I can't believe no one has mentioned it here yet. This comet is breaking all the rules, doing things it shouldn't and now has changed direction towards the sun. Yeah, gravity, but the amount of thrust required for such a radical maneuver is astronomical. I feel we are about to witness something big soon, perhaps even something prophetic.

Seriously though, if you aren't aware of what I'm talking about, look into it.

Where did you see it changed direction toward the sun? I heard there were jets facing the sun from, supposedly, ice sublimination, but I can't find anything on an actual direction change. I know there are changes in brightness too, but they say this thing is rotating which makes sense for a rock hotdog that isn't tumbling on its axis, but IDK.

What really makes me think it's not aliens though is how slow its going. At it's current speed, its occupants are either dead or would have to live for a very very long time to support any idea of an origin near a visible star. With that kind of technology, why hide? Thats a long way to travel to worry about being seen.

And if they can bend gravity/time to travel these distances in what we think is a reasonable lifetime, why not just bend light around their ship and be invisible?

I'd like to believe it is aliens (which would be terrible, I know), but who in their right mind would develop a galaxy class starship that looks like a rock?

If it is aliens, we're fucked. They show up and see us at war with one another, it won't be a tough decision for them. For all we know, human might be a delicacy for them and they are just passing by to check on their crop and see how much radiation we have spread around.

Lol I doubt it's aliens, that was for a laugh, but it is acting out and not following the role we expect. YouTube has lots of videos, mostly doom criers and conspiracy theories, but while there is only confusing and at times conflicting information being released from main sources, there is often some truth in these independent sources. Google AI admits there could have been a trajectory change, or we were wrong all along on its initial course. Here is a yt video I found just googling it... There are others.

I remember people freaking out about Comet Hale-Bopp exhibiting a "blue shift" in it's spectra indicating it was accelerating. Turns out it had started releasing gasses that showed up blue as it was melting.

THIS report is from a channel that can charitably be described as clickbait.

No need to be charitable. YT is filling up with BS channels like this. Lost track of how many times the Three Gorges Dam in China has collapsed.

Funny you said that, I went past a three gorges damn click bait this afternoon.
I remember when yt was a decent platform for how to stuff.
Now too much of it is fake, false or flat earthers often with false content patched together with references of other false content followed by some AI guy trying to sell obviously bogus product.
Or a bunch of stock footage/photos strung together with a AI narrator

I usually skip past all videos with an emotional word in the thumbnail image or title. Big, huge, shocking, unforgettable, devastating, disgusted, terrifying, horrifying, amazing etc. Anything that emphasizes an emotion over the actual content, I just skip.

I fell for click bait, dang. Oh well, it's still an interesting comet and doing many unexpected things. Thanks for throwing me a line, I rarely fall for this crap.
