11 meter is very quiet?

I don't know if you guys heard this Italian fellow on freeband. He comes on with this unusual seductive sexy voice. I don't remember his callsign but he ends his calls to QSY with "go go go go". I had him on speakers the other day and my wife was wondering what the hell kind of frequencies I was tuning into. I might get her interested with my hobby after all these years.

I made it home as the sun started to set so thought I'd get a little bit if it was there.

I got some California and the Big island contacts then scanned the band and found myself conversing with a net in Florida that are all local to each other. They thought they got a new local station but so did I when I heard them coming in +30db. Interesting evening and it's still trickling in as I type this.

I'm in NE Indiana and just put up a EFHW that does 10,15, 20, and 40 meters. Hooked it up to one of my cb rigs and the SWR seems low enough to transmit. Can some help me test it out? After 2200 UTC works best for me. Give me a time frame UTC and tell me the channel. Thanks.
I think I posted this on the wrong page.

The solar site said conditions would be poor for 10-12 meters today but I've heard yakking the few times I could spare for radio. But the last 3 days been devoted to a new furnace install and fall clean up. I am getting excited with the DX activity and can't wait to set on my Butt ! LOL
Well, 10 meters sure was closed. When we just had the speaker-wire dipole up about two weeks ago we were hitting 6000 plus miles away on 65-70 watts on our Yaesu FT-450. Then the wind took that down so we were QRT for about a week until we got the EFHW up. SFI was 180 then. Now it's less than 120. Haven't heard hardly any DX stations. Kind of disappointing.

11 meters was booming today!
Wish I could say the same. I heard some stations for a bit setting at my base but couldn't seem to connect. Maybe it wasn't my time but I did notice some how my echo was turned on and maybe others didn't want to connect with the idiot and when I discovered it the DX seem to fad after I turned it off. LOL Guess I better watch my Fat Fingers !
