So I hear a maybeUsed to tell folks to go ahead and try whatever BS they were interested in. Never mind everyone who says it won't work as claimed. You'll find out first hand whether they're all morons, or if you're one for ignoring them.

I have one since new. I believe it is AM/FM/SSB. The HTX-100, is USB/CW. Maybe that was what you were thinking of.That radio's firmware doesn't even include LSB or AM. If you think it will magically acquire 11-meter coverage, feel free to try any snake oil you discover online. I predict it won't work. At least that's what we discovered first-hand decades ago.

There were several radios, that were all basically the same, apart from the CPU program. The tuning scheme in the HTX-10 was good for VFO operation on 10m. The other variants, that do 10/11m, were borked. The tuning scheme was useless for scanning a band. Otherwise, they were fun radios.Wasn't the Yeticom Optima Mk3 and the Magnum 257 an updated version or at least an external copy of the HTX-10? Those one can be opened up for all frequencies even beyond what the HTX-10 could be.
Those radios were briefly all the rage then disappeared.
Better off finding one of those and print a Radio Shack decal to put on it.
