Wouldn't a 1:1 current balun work just as well? Either at the transmitter or at the antenna's feed point or both. I know that winding coax is cheaper but current baluns aren't that expensive.

Again some that just doesn't know how well this 98VHP does with 4X2879s in it. Don't judge it until you've tried it. It's doing 500 watts on a bird meter and it sounds great. I've had it over 9 mo. like this and I have enjoyed every minute. :)

42ft for the halfwave a99 and 36ft for the 5/8 wave antenna. Total of 60ft to the tip of the antenna. According to FCC.

Is that electrical length or physical length? As, you know the 102" is not quite 1/4 wave and still the antenna is showing that it's to long on my SWR meter. I was thinking that I was going to have to lengthen the antenna since the electrical length of the 102" antenna is shorter than 1/4 wave.
