My S45HP is possessed. I haven't used it very much in the last year or so, but recently the channel selector won't select the channels properly. You turn it to the right to go up the channels and the channel numbers reduce. The dimmer switch doesn't work Function selectors often wont work...
Mine will act strange when you first turn the radio on so heat isn't a factor. Sometimes when turning on the radio and the audio is at a certain level. I key the mike and the audio level increases. Keying the mike again may decrease it again.

Just to hi jack this a bit. My s45HP has been operating very well but of late people are reporting that my signal is fluctuating in strength. I notice that when I turn the radio on the receive will increase in strength if I key the microphone.

Thankyou for your reply. Although the S45HP can swing high from a low dead key whilst on AM with the so called Top Gun Modulator on, I normally run it on SSB in the standard setting. I can dial down the power to a very low dead key and it doesn't appear to swing very high from that setting...
