I drilled mine all the way through and bolted them with stainless bolts. That and put marine heat shrink over the joints. We have had some pretty heavy winds and its still as straight as the day I put it up.

I can only imagine. After getting yelled at by walmart for talking on "Their" channel we would mess with them from time to time. I once pretended to be someone lost in the back of the store that had found one the HTs and called for help. That had them going for awhile.
