HOW DOES A KNOCK AT THE DOOR GO DOWN?

I limit my use. I collect vintage CB radios in pristine condition with no modifications.I have to run dipole inside as sometimes you become a target.I have several hobbies and CB is one of them.

What's your favorite 'vintage' CB rig?

Amazing how these radio's bring back memories. I bought on Ebay Several old CB's in mint condition. I have one I had re-capped and gone over by a tech to align the side band.

Inverted "V" Attic Antenna Using Mobile Whips

Well I bought a 11 meter ' dipole ' with a ' balun ' and it is a perfect Swr. I just don't hear much chatter; just a lot of ground noise which I wrote the manufacturer; but have not received a reply . I am not looking for distance as trucks are always in the area. I ordered a indoor no ground...

    Xforce 200HD

I won the XForce AMP in a contest on one of my forums. It had no instructions.Anyone know where there is any? Been into radio's for ages and have been told not to drive one too hard. I would say no more then 3 watts.

    Xforce 200HD

I figure 3 watts is the most without tiring the AMP. Push the AMP and it's shelf life goes down dramatically.

    Conversion (soldering) tips please!

I would be nervous on a new radio; but has been said use a cheap CB and get use to it. Use a low wattage soldering gun.

Question on 10 meter HAM purchase

I will look into it. I probably will go for both licenses. It will take some time; but being retired I got the time. What radio would you recommend?

Question on 10 meter HAM purchase

They are selling a lot of sets that are just AM and FM which are useless as you will need side-band

    Xforce 200HD

I was thinking around 3 watts. Take it on trial and error. I am looking for a 10 meter with variable power.Running a lot through it might get the neighbors upset. I run a dipole and when I get my license I will run late at night. I decided to go ham as there is no CB in my area.

Cb channels empty for the most part.

There is nobody except truck drivers on any channel 19 near Swampscott MA. I saw a Ham setup across the pond; but he never gets on 11 or 10 meters.

2 CBers canned in one week. $14,000 and $22,000 fines.

Back in he hey day of 11 meters there were great clubs. Then the jerks came running dirty Amplifiers splattering channels. That's when I got out of it. Sold radios I wish I still had. I have lately bought several vintage radios in great shape; mostly Cobras, all running 4 watts and using a...
